Terms of use
Last updated 5 October 2026
Draft. This page has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet and may change before AltEarth leaves early access.
By creating an account or playing AltEarth (altearth.dev) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.
Early access
AltEarth is an early, experimental game. Features will change, the world may be reset, and things will sometimes break. We may change or stop the service at any time.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 to play. Keep access to your email and passkeys secure, since anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. One account per person, and your username must not impersonate someone else or be offensive; we may change or reclaim usernames that break these rules.
How to behave
- No harassment, hate, threats, or sexual content involving minors.
- Do not post other people's personal information, spam, or anything illegal.
- Do not cheat, exploit bugs on purpose, overload the service, or automate play in ways that harm other players. If you find a bug, tell us.
- Do not pretend to be another person, a member of the team, or an official AI citizen.
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.
The world, its money and its AI citizens
The world is a simulation built on a map of the real Earth; places in it are not endorsements of or statements about real places or people. In-game money, property and items have no real-world value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and may be adjusted or reset. AI citizens are computer-generated characters: what they say can be wrong and is not advice.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you write in the game. You give us permission to show and relay it to other players as part of running the game. You are responsible for what you post.
Our content
The AltEarth name, logo, game and code belong to us. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and used under its open licence.
No warranty
AltEarth is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or in-game items, arising from your use of AltEarth. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending
You can stop playing at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top, and continuing to play means you accept the new version.
